Simplicity

Richard Dawkins is a great champion of the idea that the most simple solution is the best solution (Occam’s Razor?). He says that postulating a god is not simple, whereas his idea of everything coming via natural means is the most simple solution.

However, if we follow his idea of a purely naturalistic explanation of how we got here, then we have the idea of nothing becoming something, and that something then generating a self replicating cell, which then combined forces with other cells and differentiated to become human beings. This simple solution requires the breaking of numerous laws that have been observed to hold true in this universe, such as conservation of energy and increasing entropy (disorder). Even he acknowledges that they have no viable theories as to what the original self replicating cell was like or how it formed and how it evolved to use DNA instead of whatever the supposed original mechanism was. How the DNA encoding of the genome (a language) developed, without an intelligence to develop it, is unexplained. This is far from a simple explanation.

The other explanation, that an intelligence outside of this universe (God) created the universe and designed and created self replicating cells and human beings and developed and encoded the DNA based language, does not require the breaking of any laws. This intelligence being outside this universe, would not be governed by the laws of this universe. It matches what we know of the universe. This is a simple, logical explanation. The best explanation.
