Some say that the church has changed its mind and come to understand that slave trading is wrong. They then say that, in the same way, it has come to understand that condemning homosexuality is wrong.
However, they are wrong.
In William Wilberforce’s day, there were people who claimed to be Christians, who were slave traders. Wilberforce was able to say to them that they were doing wrong, because in 1 Timothy 1:10, Paul condemns those who practice slave trading.
In the same way, today we have people who claim to be Christians, who are practicing homosexuals. We are able to say to them that they are doing wrong, because in the very same verse, 1 Timothy 1:10, Paul condemns those who practice homosexuality.
The argument has no substance.
