Since the recent release of SA Senator Cory Bernardi’s book ‘The Conservative Revolution’, much discussion is currently appearing in the media concerning the “traditional family”, what that means whether it ever existed, and whether it has any benefits.
In that context I was interested to see the following account of UK TV personality Daisy Godwin’s experience of growing up in a “broken home”. Much of it brings up strong memories of my own childhood, living with my mother and having access visits to my father. As Daisy says, I know that our parent’s divorce made my brothers and I all the more determined not to inflict divorce on our children.
